My passion is for getting people OUT of Corporate America. If you are working a 9-5 job so to speak…YOU ARE A SLAVE!! Just think about it for a minute. Can you take off whenever you want? Do you have to work during the summer when your kids are at home all by themselves? What if your child calls you from school and needs you to pick them up because they are sick…are you able to take them home and snuggle with them until they feel better or do you have to go right back to work? Why is it that people hate Monday and look forward to Friday? Is it FAIR that our “life” is spent in a 48 hour period…ie the weekend? What quality of life IS that??
My mom’s favorite saying when I was growing up…other than “Because I said so” was…So what? Life’s not fair!” Well…one thing I’ve learned in the last couple of years is that just because my mom “says so” Life doesn’t HAVE to be UN-fair!! Who says we have to take what’s given to us in the way of destiny? Who says we can’t write our own autobiography? Life isn’t what happens to us, it’s what we MAKE of it. As humans, we are so conditioned to just ‘getting by’. What if we were to make a habit of seeing how much we could DO! The problem is…it’s not hard to do…which means, it’s easy NOT to do.
You are going to spend your time building SOMEONE’S dream. Would you rather build someone else’s dream or your own!! If you could change the course of your entire life by dedicating just a FEW hours a WEEK…would you? Again, it’s easy to do and it’s easy NOT to do. I hear over and over…”I’m just SO busy…I don’t have the time.” Well, do you think you’re ever going to be LESS busy? I’ll use myself as an example. I am a single mom. I work full-time. I make jewelry and sell it at craft shows several weekends out of the year. I am now building another business through social media and network marketing. I honestly didn’t know if I would have the time to do that, but by cutting out a few hours of TV a week, I’m actually moving into a space where I NEVER thought I would be. I finally have small paychecks coming in every week from my “business on the side”!! All from spending just a few hours a week!! I don’t want to be a slave anymore. I don’t want to tell my daughter that I can’t stay home with her when she’s sick because someone has to work to pay the bills. Life HAS to be about more than just paying the bills!! It’s up to us to make it so.
